Conditioning

Conditioning is a term used to describe a tactic used by some unscrupulous real estate agents and investors to get a seller to accept a low price for a property. The basic idea is to reduce the vendors expectations by producing several very low offers. This then makes them more likely to accept an offer they would have dismissed out of hand when they put the property on the market, because on the evidence of the very low offers they feel they are lucky to get better than those offers.
